'Hands On Clay' events.   
These one-day wonders are held under the big oaks outside my studio in
Old Mountain View.

​ A FEW DETAILS ABOUT MY WORKSHOPS:

​

  • All materials provided. No clay experience needed. All clay is non-staining nontoxic white stoneware.

  • I will provide snacks and a beverage to enjoy throughout the class.

  • Bring your own lunch for a mid-class break in my backyard.

  • Pieces will be twice fired, glazed and ready to pick up in 2-3 weeks.

  • $80 per class payable the day of the workshop: cash, check or CC

  • Great way to spend time with friends, family or co-workers.

  • For ages 12 and up.

  • All participants must be fully vaccinated.

GARDEN LANTERN

SATURDAY   SEPTEMBER 25TH    10 - 3PM     Max. 6 participants

  • Build a box, add feet and carve your own design to enjoy under the night sky this fall with a flickering pillar candle - or LED faux 'candle'. A magical addition to your home indoors any season.

  • These also look amazing holding a bouquet of blooms in a jar.

  • Choose one of six different glaze finishes

FOOTED SUCCULENT POTS

SATURDAY OCTOBER 2nd    10AM to 3PM                                                       Max. 6 participants

  •  One square and one cylindrical, textured - and elevated on cube or round feet.

  •  You can make drainage holes or not, use as a cache pot or plant directly into.

  •  There will be 7 different glazes to choose from for finishing.

SINGLE SCOOP COUPES

SATURDAY  OCTOBER 9th  10AM - 3PM   8 participants

  • Make a set of 8 cupped bowls formed over grapefruit. Finish with texture - or not. Top edge undulates naturally; each coupe is unique.

  • Microwave, (moderate) oven and dishwasher safe.

  • Use these shell-like bowls for banchan, a single scoop of gelato, nut and fruit snacks, mise en place, toppings at your next taco bar and more.

  • Choose from 5 glazes

BIG BOWL QUARTET

SATURDAY     10AM - 3PM      Max. 6 participants

  • Roll out clay and form four quart-size bowls using a watermelon and texture tools.

  • Choose one of 8 different glaze finishes

  • Microwave, dishwasher and (moderate) oven safe.

  • Fill them with chili and fixings to watch the game on TV...or ladle in hot soup and gather with friends around the table...or layer grains and greens and carry to the way back with a cold beer after a hike.
