These pieces are decorated by hand while still damp with brushed on designs using the very clay that the piece is made from - but in liquid form with various colored stains added. Most are incised using the sgraffito technique to create a textured surface. After the piece dries, it is fired then dipped in clear glaze and fired again to stoneware temperature.
